retreat

Home never felt so good.

From Daily Om:

You could have the need to seek sanctuary in a place that is far from the activity of the everyday world today. Perhaps you may find that by finding a place that is tranquil, you might have the time and energy to rest and collect your thoughts. Creating your own haven either at home or in nature today can help you move toward the serenity you desire. If you are able to get away for part of the day, you might take a walk in a park or along a mountain trail, and allow the beauty and healing energy of nature to nourish and refresh you. Should you be unable to get away, you can find a place for meditation at home, maybe even cleansing it with incense or sage to make your space energetically conducive to quiet reflection.

Peaceful surroundings allow for a calm and clear mind, since our lives are usually filled with a profusion of external activity and commotion that draws our attention away from our inner selves. Having such diversions means that our focus is on the things that are happening around us instead of within us. Being in a quiet space, however, frees our attention from external distractions and instead lets us deal with our own internal chatter. As we face our inner wanderings and focus on stilling them, we feel more serene and accepting of ourselves. By creating a space for reflection today, you will bathe your mind and spirit in tranquility and find peace in stillness.
